Brisbane Window Furnishings

Frequently Asked Questions

We know choosing window furnishings for your home is a big decision. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often — and if yours isn’t here, just give us a call. We’re always happy to chat.

General / Getting Started

How does your mobile service work?

It’s simple — we come to you! Instead of visiting a showroom, one of our friendly team members will visit your home at a time that suits you. We bring a full range of samples and swatches, take accurate measurements, and help you explore all your options right there in your own space. That way, you can see exactly how things will look in your own light, with your own walls and furniture.

How do I get started?

Just give us a call on 04 4816 9967, send us an email, or fill out the enquiry form on our Contact page. We’ll arrange a free, no-obligation measure and quote at a time that works for you — usually within a few days.

Is the measure and quote really free?

Absolutely. There’s no charge for our in-home consultation, measuring or quoting — and no obligation to proceed. We believe you should feel completely comfortable before you commit to anything.

What areas of Brisbane do you service?

We service Brisbane and the surrounding areas, including the North Side, South Side, and Moreton Bay Region. Not sure if we cover your area? Just give us a call and we’ll let you know.

How long does the whole process take — from quote to installation?

It varies depending on the products and the size of your order, but most jobs are completed within 2–4 weeks from the time you confirm your order. Custom-made products like curtains and plantation shutters may take a little longer. We’ll always give you a clear timeline upfront so you know what to expect.

Can I get window furnishings for a new build before I move in?

Yes, and it’s actually a great idea! We regularly work with new-build homeowners and can arrange to measure and install before you move in, so everything is ready on day one. Just let us know your handover date and we’ll plan around it.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Yes, we do ask that someone is home during installation. This ensures everything goes smoothly and you’re happy with the results before our team leaves. Most installations are completed in a single visit.

Can you furnish just one room, or do you require a whole-house order?

We’re happy to help with a single room or a whole house — there’s no minimum order. Many of our customers start with the main living areas and come back to us for the rest of the home over time.

Products & Materials

What types of blinds do you offer?

We carry a wide range of blinds to suit every room and style, including:

  • Roller blinds (blockout, light-filtering, and dual/double roller)
  • Zebra / day-night blinds
  • Venetian blinds (aluminium and timber look)
  • Vertical blinds
  • Roman blinds

Not sure which is right for your space? Our team will walk you through the options during your free in-home consultation.

What’s the difference between blockout and light-filtering blinds?

Blockout blinds are designed to block all or most incoming light — ideal for bedrooms, nurseries, or home theatres where darkness matters. Light-filtering blinds soften and diffuse natural light while still maintaining privacy during the day. Many homeowners choose a combination of both throughout their home.

What curtain styles do you carry?

Our curtain range includes sheer curtains, blockout curtains, dual-track systems (sheer and blockout combined), and a variety of heading styles including eyelet, S-fold, and pencil pleat. All curtains are custom-made to your exact window measurements.

What materials are plantation shutters available in?

We offer plantation shutters in three main materials:

  • PVC — the most popular choice for Queensland’s climate. Moisture-resistant, easy to clean, and very durable.
  • Timber look (composite) — the warmth and feel of timber without the warping risk in humid conditions.
  • Aluminium — ideal for large openings and high-traffic areas like bi-fold doors.

We’ll help you choose the best material for each room during your consultation.

Are your products custom-made or off-the-shelf?

All of our blinds, curtains and plantation shutters are custom-made to the exact measurements of your windows. This ensures a perfect fit and a polished, professional finish — no gaps, no awkward sizing, just results that look like they were always meant to be there.

Can you match my existing décor or colour scheme?

Definitely. We carry a wide range of colours, fabrics and finishes, and our team is experienced at helping customers find products that complement their existing interiors. We bring samples with us to your home so you can compare against your actual walls, floors and furnishings.

Do you offer motorised or automated options?

Yes! We offer motorisation and smart home automation for blinds, curtains, shutters, and outdoor screens. Whether you want a simple remote control or full integration with your smart home system, we can help. This is a particularly popular option for new builds where wiring can be planned in advance.

What outdoor products do you offer?

Our outdoor range includes straight drop blinds, café blinds, retractable awnings, and zipscreen systems. All are designed to handle Queensland’s weather while keeping your outdoor spaces comfortable and stylish year-round.

Do you supply security screens and fly screens?

Yes. We supply and install security doors, security screens, and fly screens for windows and doors. Our range comes in a variety of colours and mesh types to suit different needs — from basic insect protection to high-security grilles.

Aftercare & Warranties

Do your products come with a warranty?

Yes. All of our products are covered by manufacturer warranties, and our installation workmanship is guaranteed. Warranty periods vary by product — we’ll provide full warranty details with your quote and again at the time of installation, so everything is clearly documented.

What if something goes wrong after installation?

Just get in touch and we’ll sort it out. We stand behind our work and our products, and we take after-sales issues seriously. Whether it’s a product fault or an installation concern, we’ll come back and make it right.

How do I clean my blinds?

Most roller blinds and Venetian blinds can be wiped down with a damp cloth or lightly vacuumed. Avoid soaking fabric blinds. For a deeper clean, we recommend specialist blind cleaning services rather than machine washing, as this can affect the fabric tension and internal mechanisms.

How do I clean my plantation shutters?

Plantation shutters — especially PVC — are very low maintenance. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually all that’s needed. For timber-look shutters, avoid excess moisture and use a dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth. We’ll give you specific care instructions for your chosen products at the time of installation.

How do I care for my curtains?

Care instructions vary depending on the fabric. Most of our curtains come with care labels, and we’ll advise you at installation. As a general rule, light vacuuming with a soft brush attachment helps keep curtains dust-free between cleans. For washing or dry cleaning, always follow the fabric-specific instructions to avoid shrinkage or damage.

What should I do if my blind mechanism stops working properly?

Don’t force it — this can cause further damage. Give us a call and describe the issue. Many mechanism problems are simple to fix and may be covered under warranty. We’ll arrange a visit to assess and repair if needed.

Can I get replacement parts if something breaks down the track?

In most cases, yes. We can source replacement components for the products we supply. Get in touch with the product details and we’ll do our best to help you, even after the warranty period has ended.

Still have a question? We’d love to hear from you.
